The ICT Fund is delighted to offer for Emirati students and graduates through “Betha Program”.
The ICT Fund seeks to strengthen the technological education of Emiratis by introducing “Betha program” for undergraduate and graduate levels students wishing to study ICT related subjects.

The first of its kind in the Arab world, the ICT Fund was launched in 2007 by Telecommunications Regulatory Authority to achieve rapid, progressive and concrete developments within the ICT sector in the UAE. The Fund launched its operations to jump-start innovation within the ICT sector in the UAE mainly in the fields of intellectual capital, technological leadership, smart research, innovative ideas, and incubating start-ups. The objectives of the ICT Fund to elevate the UAE ICT sector require utilizing available resources; mainly the citizens of the country. Therefore, the first link in the chain of this ecosystem is focused on motivating younger generations to move towards disciplines related to the ICT sector.

Scholarship Description: 

  • Applications Deadline: August 1, 2018
  • Course Level: Scholarships are available for undergraduate and graduate level students.
  • Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to students wishing to study ICT related subjects.
  • Scholarship Award: The Betha program has provided hundreds of scholarships for bachelor and masters degrees, and so far enabled Emirati students to study in the UAE, USA, Australia and Japan.
  • Nationality: ICT Fund offers educational scholarships for Emirati students and graduates through “Betha Program”.
  • Number of Scholarships: The Betha program has provided hundreds of scholarships for bachelor and masters degrees, and so far enabled Emirati students to study in the UAE, USA, Australia and Japan.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

Eligible Countries: ICT Fund offers educational scholarships for Emirati students and graduates through “Betha Program”.
Entrance Requirements: Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Admission requirements for the undergraduate (Bachelor’s) Degree program:
  • Should be a UAE citizen and provide a civil registry as a proof
  • Have achieved a minimum score of 75% in secondary school certificate or its equivalent in schools
  • Should apply for a specialization in the field of telecommunications and information technology
  • Should have been graduated from secondary school or its equivalent during the last three years
  • Should not be employed
  • Should not have received a scholarship or other financial assistance from any other entity.
Admission requirements for the Postgraduate (Master’s) Degree program:
  • Should be a UAE citizen and provide a civil registry as a proof
  • Should apply for a specialization in the field of telecommunications and information technology
  • Should have achieved a cumulative score of 3.00 and above in the bachelor’s degree
  • Should not have received a scholarship or other financial assistance from any other entity
  • In case of employment, the Master’s degree student is entitled for the scholarship without the monthly allowance
English Language Requirements: Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

How to Apply: Dear Student, in order to apply for a scholarship, you must follow these application steps:

1.1 Please update the student ID card, knowing that the card activation period from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship is 48 hours before going to the SmartPass platform

Kindly upload clear copies of:
  • Full Acceptance/Admission Letter. (Conditional Approvals will not be accepted)
  • Certified High school Certificate for undergraduate students certified by the Ministry of Higher Education or equivalent (showing the final result)
  • Transcript for students continuing the undergraduate program (an official transcript that contains the seal (stamp) and signature of the office of the register.)
  • Family book (all pages without exception)
  • Official IBAN letter that contains the seal (stamp) and signature of the bank.
  • Request for [full funding] is Eligible only for new students who still did not join or start university.
